IRWA Member Farewell
HENRY JAMES HANSON
Henry James Hanson passed away on September 7, 2018. Born in
Minnesota on November 11, 1938 and not a huge fan of snow, Henry
decided to move west to attend the University of Arizona. Mary, Henry’s
soon-to-be wife for over 50 years, followed him to Arizona where they
were later married and had two sons, Jeremy and Chris.
Henry was a longtime member of the International Right of Way Association and
a driving force for Chapter 73 in the 80’s and 90’s. Although well known in Tucson,
Arizona while working as a right of way agent for Pima County, Henry gained national
recognition as an instructor of many IRWA courses. Henry was perhaps best known for
his world class sense of humor and boisterous laugh.
William Bryant (Bill) Milton passed away on November 20, 2018 at
Forrest General Hospital. Bill was born on October 15, 1945 to Lloyd
and Gertrude Milton. He was married to Marsha Bass Milton for 51
Bill was a Real Estate Appraiser with the MS Department of Transportation. After his
retirement from MDOT, he went into the private sector with AWS in Houston, Texas.
He was a dedicated member of IRWA and beloved by his Mississippi Chapter. He was a
trustee for the Right of Way International Education Foundation and a recipient of the
Louise L. & Y. T. Lum Award.
Bill is survived by his wife Marsha; son Bo (Shonda) of Carrollton, MS; granddaughters,
Georgia Lee of the University of Alabama, Mary Jordan and Andie Holliday of Carrollton,
MS; brothers Jerry Milton (Nancy) of Orange Beach, AL., Dr. Jimmy Milton (Renee’) of
Birmingham, AL., and Ted Milton (Sally) of Biloxi, MS; sisters, Katherine Everett (Jim) of
Summit and Pauline Smith (Joey) of Smithdale, MS.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
